How to convert a Word document into text format.
Steps:

1. Open the Word Document.

2. On the menu , click File, then Save As

3. Click the down arrow on the “Save as type” drop down box and select “Plain Text (*.txt)”
Note: the file name is kept but the file extension is changed to “.txt.”
4. Click Save.

5. At the File Conversion window, click Ok.

6. You may get a warning message, click Yes.

Your Word Document has been converted and saved as a Text document with the file extension of “.txt.”
Note: if you convert this Word Document into text the result will look like this:

The graphics have been deleted because they are not compatible with a text format.
