Data Project Chapter 4/5
Data Distributions
Open the worksheet that you created for Chapter 2. Based on the histograms that you created, identify if you think the data follow any specific distribution. Save the following steps in a new tab of the same worksheet. Save the file for the next portion of the project. You will submit the final project at the end of the semester.
Instructions
State the center, shape and spread of the distribution (using your best guess and the information in the statistics you found earlier).
Using a random number generator, randomly select 10 groups of 30 different interest rates from the Fed Funds rate only.
This can be done several ways, including but not limited to using individual values, using individual dates, using date ranges, etc.
Make sure to describe how you found your randomly selected values. This is important because it will affect the results.
Find the mean and standard deviation of each of the ten groups of randomly selected values.
Find the mean and standard deviation of the means of the 10 groups.(this is called the mean of the means)
How do the mean and standard deviation of the averages compare to the mean and standard deviation of the entire group? What should they be based on the central limit theorem?
