Final – take home
Find the assigned data (assignment is listed below) under final exam topic on coursesite. Perform thorough regression analysis (follow the flow as discussed in lecture) and report the result of final model. The tasks expected ranges from exploratory data analysis (descriptive statistics, histogram, scatter plot, … etc.), model-diagnostics/residual-analysis, model selection, evaluation of multi-collinearity, influential points analysis (YES, treat this as million-dollar project), with optional variable transformation, weighted least square or remedy for multi-collinearity. Extra credit is for extra work (either more advanced analytical work or expand the study to compare with data from difference resources).
The format of report needs to follow the following rules
(1) Report needs to be typeset; a deduction will be applied to a Hand-written report.
(2) Cover page, Table of contents, Main text, References and Appendix are EXPECTED.
(3) For main text, Font-size: 10-12 pt.; single space; Margin-size: 1 in.; pages need to be numbered; tables and figures need to be numbered and captioned.
(4) Number of pages is of 10 to 15 pages for main text. Note that a conclusion section is REQUIRED.
(5) Appendix is limited to 10 pages
(6) The height of any included figures is limited to a quarter of textheight (i.e. (11 − 2)/4 = 2.25 in).
(7) Include table of reasonable size in the main text only when it helps to support your arguments.
