(i.) Design project proposal (25%) – A summary description of design challenge/research
problem, based on a preliminary  review of  literature and  technology, methodology/
approach,  performance  criteria/project  requirements,  originality/novelty/innovation,
and  a  plan  with  OHS  and  technical  risk  analysis,  as  appropriate  –  assessed  by  a
designated academic supervisor.

(ii.) Diligence, progression and academic/engineering professional performance (15%) –
on the spot assessment on weekly or fortnightly basis at project meetings, based on
material  evidence  including  agenda,  progress  report,  discussion,  action  items,
initiative/innovation/critical thinking, and quality of logbook/work diary (the supervisor’s
overall assessment to be finalised at the last project meeting at the end of semester or
shortly  thereafter;  and  duration  of  each  regular  project meeting will  be  15  to  30
minutes as a common practice) – assessed by the academic supervisor.

(iii.) Final Report and Presentation –
a. EEET2349 Prof Eng Adv Proj Pt A Report  (50%) – covering all key components of

the  first stage of  the project,  including a comprehensive  review of  literature and
technology  relevant  to  the project, methodology/approach, performance  criteria
and  design  specifications,  preliminary work/simulation/prototyping/experimental
results,  originality/novelty/innovation,  and  a  plan  towards  project  completion  –
assessed  by  an  Academic  Panel  including  academic  supervisor,  discipline’s
appointee, and programme director/course coordinator or their appointee.

b. EEET2349  Prof  Eng Adv  Proj  Pt A  Presentation  (10%)  –  an  oral  presentation  on
summary achievements of the project  (with demonstration,  if any) – assessed by
the same Academic Panel.
