Project Brief
A national retail chain is trying to understand how it can improve its performance in terms of sales and marketing. The company has hired your group as consultants to analyse its sales data and come up with a plan to expand their locations and internet presence to capture new markets while improving the performance of their existing shops. Its objective is to increase its sales and customer base while also reducing its logistics related costs. To accomplish this, you will need to do the following:
Sales
Identify any areas in which the company can use its internet presence to increase its market share where a physical location may not be appropriate.
Project Deliverables
A executive summary; and
A technical report including any references and appendices
The executive summary is a non-technical summary of the project, the analysis that was conducted, the major findings and the recommendations. In industry most people will not read the technical report, so it is important that this section communicates your work to this audience.
The technical report is a more detailed report on the technical aspects of your analysis. It is not necessary to repeat information that is in the executive summary unless it is required for context/understanding. Despite being a technical report, this section may be read by those that are not well versed in spatial data and GIS.
