The dataset for this project was provided by the authors of: Ann Intern Med. 2006;145:361-363. This dataset explores longevity in actors and actresses who won academy awards (winners), were only ever nominated (nominees), or were never nominated (controls). This is the same dataset that I have been referring to in the videos. Your job is to analyze these data to test three hypotheses:
Actors and actresses who win academy awards have better longevity than those who are only ever nominated for an academy award.
Actors and actresses who win academy awards have better longevity than those who are never nominated for an academy award.
Actors and actresses who are only ever nominated for an academy award have better longevity than those who are never nominated.
Test the three main hypotheses in the study in regression models adjusting for potential confounders. Summarize your modeling approach in 100 words or less. In other words, write a short statistical methods section. (5 points for presentation, 10 points for content)
Create a professional-looking analytic table (similar to a table from a published paper) that presents hazard ratios and confidence intervals from your models in (4). (5 points for presentation, 15 points for content)
